The Coronavirus Crisis Make Family Stress Worse
If you are struggling more than usual with worry for your family right now, you are not alone. Even if you or a loved one have not been personally affected by the virus, you may feel like you are sitting in wait for the other shoe to drop.
So many of us are worried about getting infected. You may fear that germs can be transmitted via surfaces, clothing, food or the air. There seems to be no definitive answers to your questions, which makes it difficult to know exactly how to keep your family safe. This feeling of being out of control is a parenting nightmare.
And, if you and your loved ones are safe, you might be sheltering at home together 24X7, and that brings a whole lot of stress in addition to already trying to manage challenging episodes from your children.
Helping you manage this additional stress and come out of this Coronavirus crisis intact as a family, is something I can currently do via online therapy.
I have currently suspended in-home sessions, but hope to resume meeting my client families in their home as soon as safely possible.
Reach out if you would like to chat with me to see if working together at this time or in the future makes sense for you and your family.
Your home is filled with yelling, fighting, and door slamming. You just want to come home to a loving, safe, and peaceful family. How would you convince everyone to get into the car and to go to even one family therapy session?
In-Home Family Therapy may just be the answer.
In-Home Family Therapy: Home-Based Counseling Services
In-Home Family Therapy saves you time and creates a safe atmosphere where everyone feels more comfortable. As a result, your family is likely to open up more easily. You will get the help your family needs more quickly.
By coming into your home, I gain deeper insights from seeing how and where you live. Together we will use this assessment to develop a more effective therapy plan. My approach is very “hands-on.” I value the parents as experts in the family and do not judge.
Advantages of Mental Health Treatment at Home
I help stressed-out families, who want to salvage their relationships, learn positive communication and problem-solving skills. My clients want to walk away feeling closer and more emotionally healthy, no matter what life circumstances they face.
Many of the families I help find In-Home Family Therapy makes therapy more accessible and powerful. In the home, I teach parenting skills on the spot, in “real life,” making them easier to practice and learn.
Acting-out behaviors can be addressed as they happen and not just talked about in the therapy office. As you prepare family meals or put children to bed, you will practice your new skills. I will be at your side, guiding you step by step.
Ready to learn?
Once our work together is complete, my hope is that your family will feel more connected and loving. You will have an increased sense of family identity and
culture. Family members will be on the same page when it comes to the rules and norms that govern your home.
The routines and structure we create will help to calm the family atmosphere. Old resentments and arguments will be brought to the surface, no longer be hiding between the lines in words unspoken.
The decision is yours. You have so much counted on keeping your family together and emotionally healthy. As time goes by and children get older, it will only get harder to stay connected as a family.
The challenges and risky situations that your kids will experience could stress your already frazzled home to a crisis point. This is not a situation you want to find yourself in now, or in the future.
A change will require hard work; harder than you have imagined. Together, we can write a different family story. Through intense In-Home Family Therapy, your home can become a fun place where everyone wants to hang out.
We will work to develop family traditions and culturally affirm rituals that tie you together as a family. If you are ready to create a scrapbook, full of meaningful memories and stories that can be passed down through the generations, then Contact Abby.
